YELLOW RIBBONS UNITED (YRU)
Yellow Ribbons United (YRU) is a nonprofit focused on bridging the gap between military service and civilian life through civic and social action. YRU strives to engage more civilians to appreciate the sacrifices and challenges that our military families experience through the Kid2Kid campaign. Derrick and Emma Dockery founded YRU having experienced firsthand the challenges of growing up as military children. Emma was inspired to start Yellow Ribbons United after her brother passed away bravely fighting for our freedom in Afghanistan.
YRU's Winter Wonderland
Yellow Ribbons United annual Winter Wonderland is tradition to celebrate military kids of deployed service members. Since 2014 at the inaugural Winter Wonderland Holiday Extravaganza, over 1000 military children and parents have been treated to an evening of fun, games, gifts, and holiday cheer at The Ritz-Carlton in the Washington, DC metro area, as a thank you for their sacrifice and service. GES has been a happy participant since the founding of the company in 2023, with ties going back many years prior. It's a wonderful tradition, representing a opportunity to share our thanks and support to those who give so much to protect our country.
Children Are Magical (CHARM)
CHARM (Children Are Magical) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization developed by children’s book author and public speaker Jaclyn Nesheiwat Stapp. CHARM aims to heighten awareness of children’s issues and provide underprivileged youth with the tools for enriching their lives through education, encouragement, and valuable resources. Our charity will partner with trusted foundations and organizations to provide children and their families the resources to help overcome challenges in their life.
CHARM derives its inspiration and purpose from Jaclyn’s own life experiences as one of five siblings raised by her widowed single mother, experiencing firsthand the dilemma of need with few available resources, yet having a passionate calling to meet needs of other families around her in similar circumstances. She envisioned CHARM in her high school years, and now feels blessed as a wife, mother, mentor, and speaker who has addressed children and family issues all over the world to bring that vision to fulfillment..
CHARM's Back to School Bash
The CHARM Foundation holds an annual Back to School Bash in Nashville. Each year, the Back to School Bash helps children to prepare for the school year by providing them with school supplies. These resources help kids get off to a great start for the school year with free backpacks, hygiene kits, health screenings, school supplies, dental screenings, haircuts, and more.
